Manchester City’s dominance in recent years reflects the team’s squad depth and Pep Guardiola’s winning philosophy. If City was an option in many top casino games, they should be the team to put your money on. Head coach Pep Guardiola, the mad genius, adopts a tactical style that has made City one of the most feared teams in the world. Little wonder they dominate the EA Sports team of the year’s 100-man list and remain contenders in multiple competitions.

City Resolves to Fight on all Fronts

Manchester City is a contender on four fronts; the Champions League, the F.A. Cup, the Premier League, and the Carabao Cup. Head coach, Pep Guardiola, has said in a recent meeting with reporters that the team is ready to fight as far as possible and might even win all titles. He said, “I am not saying we will win all titles, but from day one, we will try to win them all.” According to Guardiola, winning is about principles, and the key to Manchester winning again is those underlying principles.

EA Sports Team of the Year: Eight City Players get Nominated

EA released a 100-man list of nominees for the team of the year, with Manchester City boasting eight representatives, the most from any team. Below is a brief overview of each nominated player over the past year:

Ederson Santana de Moraes

Ederson, with a FIFA-based rating of 89, had an incredible year. After winning three consecutive Premier League golden gloves and helping City to four of the last five domestic titles, the shot-stopper shows no signs of slowing down.

Ruben Dias

Ruben Dias is a force to reckon with in the back line. With a FIFA-based rating of 88, he is in the league of the best defenders in the world. Dias arrived at the Etihad in 2020 and has won two consecutive titles. His consistency, elite-level defense, and aerial prowess have earned him a nomination in this 100-man list.

Joao Cancelo

Cancelo has been pivotal in Guardiola’s inverted fullback gameplay. In the 2021/2022 campaign, he has a league-high 2,951 passes and 3,908 touches, the best of any outfield player. Cancelo has earned his FIFA-based rating of 88 and his name on this nominees’ list.

Rodrigo Hernández Cascante

Rodrigo is the fourth-highest-rated CDM, with a FIFA-based rating of 87. The Spaniard had an incredible 2021/2022 campaign, and his elite play has continued into the season. Scoring seven goals and completing the most passes of any CDM, it is no surprise his name is on this list.

Bernado Silva

Silva is an incredible player. He is technical and consistently shows high-level football acumen through his brilliant playmaking displays. The midfielder scored 13 goals in the 2021/2022 campaign and three-peated the Etihad Player of the Season award. The Portuguese’s remarkable brilliance earned him a spot on this list.

Kevin De Bruyne

The De Bruyne-Halland combination has been the highlight of this season; however, De Bruyne’s show outs have been consistently on display since he arrived at the Etihad. The ultimate playmaker led his team to a title while netting 15 goals. He has a FIFA-based rating of 91, the highest in the premier league.

Phil Foden

Foden scored 14 goals in all competitions in City’s 2021/2022 campaign. Earlier in an interview with reporters, Guardiola commented on the English player’s incredible ability to play in tight spaces. After a brilliant world cup performance, despite England’s defeat to French rivals, Foden is back in form for his club, hoping for another incredible season.

Erling Halland

Halland’s monster performance in his first season in the Premier League speaks for itself. The Norwegian has scored 21 goals in 16 Premier League appearances, ranking him as one of the best finishers in the League. The De Bruyne-Halland combination is a threat teams dread. It is no surprise his name is on this list.

In recent years, Manchester City has painted Manchester blue. Their squad depth, tactical dominance, and overall football style have made them the Manchester team to cheer on. With the club’s consistent performance, recent trophies, and commitment to sustainability, Manchester City is on track to continue future success.
